Conference: Dolphins, big players

Sunday, March 31, starting at 11:00 am, we expect all the curious - children and parents, students and teachers - at the fourth conference within the annual, interactive and interdisciplinary program, "Sunday Meeting".

This week, Diana Alexandra Ion, a specialist at the Museum, invites you to discover some of the most interesting features of dolphins. did you know that dolphins evolved from terrestrial mammals? Did you know that not all dolphin species live in salt water? We will discuss about all this, but also about many others, at the "Sunday meeting".

We will find out who is part of the dolphin family, with whom they are related and where they live. We will talk about echolocation, but also about the intelligence of these animals, so loved by humans. We will try to establish what chances these animals have in the future and what efforts scientists are making to rehabilitate endangered species.

For the participating children, the organizers have prepared surprises and a series of scientific journals that will be awarded as prizes. The conference will end, as we have already been accustomed to, with "the theme for home"; all children's works will be exhibited at the end of the conference cycle (2013) in the temporary exhibition "Gala of Sunday meetings"

Participants can register up to 50 seats by phone: 021.312.88.26, int. 316 or by e-mail: [email protected]

Participation in the event is based on the ticket for visiting the Museum: students and students - 5 lei, pensioners - 10 lei, adults - 20 lei.
