Cheap foods are made from very fatty and very sweet ingredients. "Food Guide", the 2006 edition, recently published in France, presents the compositions of over 500,000 products sold in the supermarket. The authors of the book, Jean-Michel Cohen and Patrick Serog, point out that cheap food is of poor quality.
The sweets do not contain much fruit, being replaced with glucose-fructose syrup. Meat preparations do not contain much meat, but hydrogenated vegetable fats, a real poison for the body. In cereal bars, so popular with children, there are not many whole grains, but they have white wheat flour in the composition.
