Speaking of addiction, we have formed a negative image. There is perhaps only one exception: the one of work, being probably the only addiction accepted by education, religion, society and the business world.

Speaking of addiction, we have formed a negative image. There is perhaps only one exception: the one of work, being probably the only addiction accepted by education, religion, society and the business world.
Those who work hard are regarded in society as mature, responsible people. They not only get promotions and rewards (money and power), but they also get the respect of their co-workers and the appreciation of their superiors. Increasing productivity for any purpose is the main objective of any company.
People who are dependent on work are increasingly found in our society. There are people so concerned about their success and career that they sacrifice all their time for this purpose. Today's employees are increasingly involved in the work, making modern technology accessible to their bosses or customers 24 hours.
For some, it is a harsh reality that causes them dissatisfaction and causes them to ignore social life. For others, this addiction can be a consequence of mental disorders and can only be treated by the psychologist. Unlike drug or alcohol addiction, work addiction is a process that involves a series of actions and interactions. It resembles other addictions such as gambling or sex addiction.
Many people are able to do anything to solve their problems and gain an important job or gain a salary increase. As working time increases, sometimes even late at night, people become more and more stressed and exhausted.
Such people are dependent on their work; But there are others who make no effort but to financially support their family or to stay home. Dependency cannot be called a person who occasionally works over the program.

The person who really likes to work feels satisfied with the results and works hard and long for a goal that is not necessarily dependent. Anyone suffering from this disease thinks about work all the time.
Another important aspect of addiction is the impossibility of living without the pleasure offered by work. When a project or task is not completed or a family problem arises that requires absence from work, the dependent person may be depressed or panic. Other signs include refusal to admit fatigue.

Addiction to work ... a disease?

Emotional needs and concern for the emotional life are often ignored. Those who try to meet their work affiliation needs define their colleagues as friends and sometimes become sexually attracted to people who work in the same place. Employees lack enthusiasm, joy and are broken by contact with their feelings. Driven by the need to impress and to make an effort they forget to truly live.
Like other dependents, labor dependents will deny their addiction. They will say they can stop whenever they want. At the same time, they can justify the fact that they work over a temporary program or because it allows them to provide more for their families. In fact they work so much because they like what they do and they feel more comfortable at work. They consider "sacrifice" in favor of work to be absolutely necessary and worth doing.
The fans would behave in a difficult way to understand: they would wake up as early in the morning and leave for work in the evening, late; every day. It might even ignore the physiological needs and become sick due to the accumulation of fatigue and stress.
It is a real madness and could have drastic consequences on health; Unfortunately, most of them do not understand this. Some try to control this startup and eat excessively or do not have the appetite. This is where the heart problems and the appearance of the ulcer start.
Someone who works hard, who avoids their friends, who forgets about family, does this not only for pleasure but because it probably has a strong motivation. When you overdo it, you can say that it has a problem.
These people do not know how to stop or how to solve their problems. It seems to them that the best way is to work hard to finish what they have to do. It involves body and soul and forgets to look at things from a different perspective.
Some people can work hard without having problems but others get seriously ill. All those who engage in various work activities but forget about their personal lives are prone to illness. They need great help.
Continuous work also means that the individual does not know how to classify his priorities. His best contacts will be those related to work and will be strictly limited to solving problems.
The negation factor prevents them from seeing or living reality as it is. They have an altered perception that applies to this segment of their life. Often, the dependent person possesses a very developed self-image regarding his / her career, this being defined by what they are and not by what they do.
Friends and family can help these people by spending a long time together and by establishing conditions (for example: weekends are not worked). Most workaholics have the impression that they are doing what is necessary and right. They think that there is nothing wrong with their lives.
If it is a threat to the social life of the individual, the work cannot be considered productive. The individual will only gain benefits in terms of his desire to make as much effort as possible.
Work addiction is a disease and must be treated by specialized doctors: psychologists.
